NozzleCentering
How it works

How nozzle centering works

Follow a red dot, get a notification. Here is everything that happens from mounting the unit to a centered beam path.

Step by step

Centering in five steps

  1. Fit the adapterFit the adapter that matches your cutting head and mount the centering unit onto the nozzle.
  2. Plug into AndroidConnect the unit to your Android phone with the USB cable and open the Raytech app. The unit has no battery — it runs on the phone’s power, so there is nothing to charge.
  3. Switch on the red pilot lightTurn on the cutting head’s red pilot (guide) light. The cutting laser is never fired. The app shows the pilot light as a red dot on a target.
  4. Follow the dotTurn the centering screws on the head and watch the red dot move toward the center of the target. Nothing to calculate, nothing to interpret.
  5. Get notifiedThe app alerts you the moment the dot reaches the center. Refit the nozzle and get back to cutting.

Always follow your machine manufacturer’s safety instructions when working on the cutting head.

Centering on a real machine: the dot moves to center as the screws turn.
Why it is simpler

Light, a dot and a notification

The system turns centering into something every operator can do the same way: no burn marks to read, no laser firing and no batteries to keep charged.

Red pilot light

The unit uses the cutting head’s red guide light — the cutting laser stays off.

Live target

The light appears as a red dot on a target in the app and moves as you turn the screws.

Notification on center

The app tells you when the dot is centered — you know exactly when to stop.

Battery-free

Powered by the Android phone over USB. Plug in and it works.

When should you re-center the nozzle?

  • After changing or cleaning the focusing or collimating lens
  • After a nozzle collision or head crash
  • After replacing the protective window or ceramic ring
  • When you see one-sided dross, uneven kerf or direction-dependent cut quality
  • As part of scheduled preventive maintenance
